This summer was busy, despite all the time I spent lolling about in bed taking drugs. In August, I went straight from my sick bed to the airport, where I flew to San Diego to celebrate Grandma Price’s 85th birthday (which will not officially happen until tomorrow), then to Ketchikan, Alaska, where I visited Chris, Joy, Jefferson, and Lola (and Chris’s brother Milon) (and assorted cousins, etc.) for a week, then to Seattle, where I visited my friend Kristen for a day. Whee! I kept gradually getting better, but still found time to pack in other fun events, like a Weird Al concert at the State Fair with Jenny, Nell, and Victoria (that’s us above in the ninth row), Jane Eyre at the Guthrie (the book is still better), hanging out with Shannan and Kristen (who came for a visit right after I returned from my visit), a Celtic harp concert, the Twin Cities River Rats, and a couple of bluegrass festivals. I also read a few intriguing books: Infidel, by Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Saints, by Orson Scott Card, and East, by Edith Pattou. Eventually I’ll add more physical activities to my list. As of today, I’m about 94 percent better. And I broke up with Gerardo somewhere in all those adventures. I think Syncopa is still on, though. (I hope!) Oh, and I forgot my newest addiction--FamilySearch Indexing. Right now, we’re working on indexing the 1900 census, and it’s more fun than you might imagine. I learned about it from an August Ensign article (it came while I was in the hospital) and immediately started working on it. You can go to www.familysearchindexing.org and sign up to help if you want. I got a lot done while I was convalescing, but now I have to squeeze in just one or two batches a day, usually right before I go to sleep.
